The ClearWarn Story

The weather and community roots behind ClearWarn

Like the weather, ClearWarn started in the sky.

Tim Solley grew up in southern California around airplanes, and as most pilots do, by his early teens he became fascinated with weather. He earned his pilot's license by 20.

Decades later, when he brought his family to central Florida, he realized the tropical, turbulent weather was nothing like he had experienced in California. After seeking advice about weather patterns from the local pilot community, someone recommended he meet up with local meteorologist Eric Burris. The two became fast friends, and Tim learned more than he ever expected about weather. Before long they bought their first airplane together, a beautiful blue and white Mooney M20F.

He also learned that there was simply no high-quality, modern way to communicate weather information effectively to the masses. As a lifelong technology entrepreneur, Tim knew he'd found a new mission. With his technology background and a love of weather, he could save lives.

From that moment, ClearWarn was born.
